This post-apocalyptic sci-fi BL drama will soon catch the attention of everyone in the BL drama world!
Everyone was amazed at the quality of Wish You Luck's first trailer. The cinematography was nothing like we've seen before, growing the excitement of the awaiting crowd. The trailer looked good enough for a movie, but we're getting a whole series!
Many expectations are set on this drama, but the question is: will it be making history? or will it fall into disappointment? Let's talk about Wish You Luck and whether or not it has the potential to be something great!
The producers behind 'wish you luck' series
Wish You Luck will be produced by Commuan Studios, a studio in the works since 2012.
Commuan Studios have already done many collaborations when it comes to BL drama works, but they rarely ever had one that was of their production. Wish You Luck and SELF will be their latest BL dramas.
However, despite this, they have a fantastic director working for them! That's right. K'Chookiat Sakveerakul the same director of Love of Siam and Dew the Movie, two iconic movies in the Queer Thai film industry.
Because of his previous works, many fans expect an emotional and heart-wrenching story that will make us cry!
Tonnam and Teshin, the lead actors for 'Wish You Luck.'
Another reason why people are excited about this BL drama is because of the lead actors: Tonnam Piamchon and Title Teshin.
Tonnam is a great favorite in the Thai BL world since he's already appeared in many BL dramas like Why R U, Until We, Meet Again, Make it Right, The Yearbook, Cutie Pie, Triage, and Love in the Air.
However, in all of these BL dramas, he's always been a support role. Wish You Luck will be his first series in a lead role, making his fans rejoice! Tonnam has always been terrific at showing subtle and serious facial expressions, so his role in this dramatic sci-fi drama is perfect.
Teshin will be Tonnam's co-star for Wish You Luck, and the best part is they've already worked together. Teshin is a rookie actor in the BL drama world! With his debut series, The Yearbook, he moved on to Remember Me.
Fans are excited to see their chemistry happen in their new drama together!
personal thoughts and opinions
I am very excited to see this Sci-Fi drama come into production. After knowing who is working behind this series, I have many positive expectations. I immensely enjoyed Dew the Movie, and knowing that the same director will be handling Wish You Luck has me happy.
However, the sci-fi genre is still an unexplored territory in the BL-drama world. There are many concerns about whether Commuan studios can give this plot's concept any justice. Since the airing date is still for 2023, all fans can do is stay still and wait for more updates.
I think Commuan studios did well in choosing the concept for a debut sci-fi BL drama. It's neither too much nor too little. The setting of having the two main characters survive after the meteor collided with the moon is perfect since they don't have to spend too much on effects.
It saves them a budget but also gives them the post-apocalyptic concept! Quite genius.
The wish You Luck series is on my to-watch list, and I can't wait to see it in total production. I have many exceptional expectations, and I hope Commuan studios can reach them! What do you think about this upcoming sci-fi BL drama? Let me know!
